This weekend I had the privilege of spending a couple of sun-filled days painting and chatting to visitors in the beautiful Eurambeen Homestead Gardens, the pleasant sounds of music mixed with the sound of water gently splashing into the old pool from the water fountain made for a very relaxing environment
Unsold works will be available for purchase via the website soon, and I’ll be working on a few “Eurambeen” projects and commissioned pieces over the coming weeks

An extension of painting figures in the landscape, many of my artworks explore the symbolism of flowers and the idea of internal growth visible on the outside of the body, twisting through the hair and taking over the body, expressing emotions, values and attitudes and the potential for behavioural change.
Adapted from an earlier painting titled Bouquet of Protea or Speak your Truth, the opportunity to paint a large-scale painting within the community of Buninyong with other local artists was one I didn’t want to pass up.
The Protea flowers, symbolic of courage; positioned at the mouth of the figure, represents being free to be yourself and have the courage to speak up for what you value and strongly believe in.
Photographs document the stages of the mural from planning to executing the mural, painted in December 2017 over the period 3 days. The brick walls are well on the way to being completely covered in artworks.
It’s such a great pleasure to delve into the relationships between people; depicted on canvas and using a range of mediums, the hope is to capture the children’s genuine love and bond with their pets and siblings.
Experimentation with various media and methods remains an important part of my practice, figure and portrait drawing allows me to experiment with different drawing materials, charcoal and conte and pastels on papers.
